Chateau La Coudraie Bordeaux 2017

If you’ve ever thought clarets were too austere, this wine will convert you. Ripe and fruit-forward, it’s a very moreish Bordeaux from the family property of top viticulturer Jean-Marc Jolivet, brimming with creamy plum and cassis fruit.

Tasting Notes

Gold Medal-winning, Young purple/ruby colour. The nose is fresh and shows finesse with its hints of fruit (strawberry and cherries), flowers, spices and leaves that are logically restrained in such a young wine. Its youth shows also on the palate, which appears energetic and firm, with pleasant fruit flavours over a tannic structure that is still marked. This will soften and blend in a year or so to make for a classically seductive ensemble.
