Kahurangi Estate 'Regional Selection' Nelson Montepulciano 2019

Kahurangi Estate Regional Series aims to capture the essence of several well know NZ wine-growing regions. Montepulciano is not commonly grown in New Zealand but has found a home in the heart of Upper Moutere with small plantings of this Central Italian classic.

This is a wine to savour! Intense inky purple in colour, this rare New Zealand wine shows a distinct nose of ripe dark berries with subtle savoury notes. Bold black cherry flavours abound with enhanced fruit tannins and generous long palate.

Notes

Kahurangi Montepulciano 2018 is a beautiful example of this noble Italian classic. Deep ruby-purple in colour, with robust aromas of wild forest berries and oregano overlying subtle cocoa notes. Spicy blackcurrent and plum flavours on the palate, a well weighted wine with good density and smooth texture, backed by fine/firm tannins.
